We just moved in and are all camping out in one room of the house since there is no floor yet. I’m delirious from moving all day, so hopefully I’ll make sense in this blog post! I so badly want to check up on all the other ORC makeovers, but it just has to waitOne Room Challenge – Week # 3 – Kitchen makeover madness!
One Room Challenge -Week 2 -the Kitchen makeover
Honestly I’m completely stressed out at the moment. The bungalow is filled with packing boxes up to my ears. We move in one week from today to a house that does not even have floors yet! Let alone a finished bathroom. I’ve been focusing on getting the basics in the guest bedroom done this weekREAD MORE One Room Challenge -Week 2 -the Kitchen makeover →
One Room Challenge – WEEK # 1
As you read this blog post you’ll realize I’m certifiably nuts. I’m moving in to a new home in 15 days that we’ve been gut renovating for three months. Or let me correct myself, we’re moving in to the one bedroom we can sleep in. The home doesn’t even have floors yet! Yet I’ve decidedREAD MORE One Room Challenge – WEEK # 1 →
We're finally painting!
A few days ago we started painting, not all of the house, but enough so we at least can move in.
One of the things I’m kind of obsessing over in design lately is black moldings and windows. This house has low ceilings and sunny California outside so I have to be careful not to be too heavy handed. Since I have the luxury of living there first and seeing what the light does to the walls, I can wait to decide just how heavy I can go with the use of black moldings.
We’re going to move in to the guest room for the first couple of weeks until the floor goes down. The plan for that room is to be a Beverly Hills hotel inspired suite with my own twist, so it was painted coral.READ MORE We're finally painting! →

One Room Challenge – Week # 4
For those of you who don’t know I’m participating with 20 Designers/Bloggers in the One Room Challenge. You have 6 weeks to makeover a room. You can catch up on the progress here.
WEEK # 1 Design plan & Inspiration
WEEK # 2 – Paint & Carpet
WEEK # 3 – Vintage shopping Swedish style
Now WEEK # 4 – I had anxiety. I was feeling guilty for once again during my visit fearing I would not get it done. The room will eternally look like crap, and I will continue to make excuses for it when people come over.
Although a pretty pink now, with a new carpet it was still an unstylish MESS!!! The cheap curtains, no carpet pad, no lamps, and and still the laminated $ 5 coffee table that was an emergency solution from years ago — all still there. And none of the fab vintage finds have been painted, and none of the lamps or art have been placed.
And on top of it, it’s always filled to the brim with family members, slipping and sliding on the carpet because I had not even had time to get a carpet pad or even cared to lay it down properly.READ MORE One Room Challenge – Week # 4 →
One Room Challenge – Week #3

In case you missed the previous posts here they are: WEEK # 1 WEEK # 2 The problem is, every time I go home to Sweden the surroundings relax me so much that I never end up finishing the projects I set outREAD MORE One Room Challenge – Week #3 →

THE LAKE COTTAGE GETS A MAKEOVER
Our house in Sweden has a little guest cottage on the land that the farm workers lived in back in the 1800’s. It was a charming little cottage right on the lake, but by the time we bought the house the guest cottage had become a sauna with a depressing bedroom with no windows.
