This is the first in a two step indoor/outdoor office makeover that’s long overdue. To increase value on the home we turned the garage in to a guest house with an apartment on the second floor. Our LA house is in a Swedish magazine and I thought I would share it with you. Journalist and photographer Stephanie Bjelkstam came to LA a while back to take pictures and to write a story about the makeover. The last couple of months we’ve been going full steam ahead to launch a west coast branch to the charity my friend Cheryl and I co-founded with a 25 years ago in DC Knock Out Abuse Against Women. After many 12 hour days we finally threw our first fundraiser for Knock Out Abuse West in When 200 Guests Come to your House – Knock Out Abuse LA Launch
There has been a lot of changes going on around here. The renovations are done, I’ve got a new big office (a garden and deck in progress), a music studio, a teen room, and a new sitting room next to the master bedroom. We’ve added outdoor spaces, painted, landscaped etc.etc. Our home went from a New Office, New Rooms & New Products
Yesterday the the great vintage lions that have been sitting in the living room just waiting to move in to Lukeland were finally installed. We scooped them up at Sunbeam vintage in LA together with some mid century bars tools to add some wild jungle character to the room. Luke wants lots of lions in Top 10 Lion Hardware list & Lion Decor
Happy New Year! We’re excited to finally have a move in date. 2 1/2 years after moving in. Permits, termites, you name it delayed the guest house renovations. We’re putting the finishing touches on it this week and I cannot wait to move into it. Everything is light and Swedish inspired with some art deco Guest House Update – One Week to Move in

Finally. The library is done. Down to the wire like always! Swedish photographer Anna Maria (Instagram @annamariafotograf) came here at the last minute to shoot so we could include the artwork from our charity which just arrived the night before and was the perfect missing piece for the room.
