Happy 2020! I was able to do some work on the Idaho cabin over the holidays. Paint, paint, paint seem to be the biggest game changer. From painting vintage finds, to saying good bye to excessive wood paneling, color is definitely fun and refreshing for the New Year. Here are a few progress snap shots….Progress Pictures from the Cabin Makeover
Vintage Hunting for an Idaho Cabin
I’ve started a little fun makeover of an Idaho cabin from the 1800’s. It belongs to my fiance and his family along with a few other rustic cabins. It’s incredibly charming and quaint but needs better space planning and several layers of coziness and color. The rooms are dark and need to be brightened asREAD MORE Vintage Hunting for an Idaho Cabin →

The love of reinventing furniture!
I grew up in a home where we washed plastic bags, conserved energy and any item that had been one thing, got reinvented to something else. I used to be angry and even embarrassed of all this salvaging! Bed covers became towels after they broke, or perhaps even curtains, and lots of things were boughtREAD MORE The love of reinventing furniture! →
Should the red chair go?
I haven’t written about Luke’s room for a couple of weeks. You might remember all the mixtures of BLUES going on in his room, and Luke’s desire that the only colors be blue, black and white. I convinced him to let me add an additional color like red, since that would go with his previousREAD MORE Should the red chair go? →
A CRAZY purple makeover
I know some of you might not like this makeover. And apologies to Arte de Mexico for painting your pretty mirror. But I like to take chances with things, and see if I can re-imagine something in a whole new way. I think design is more fun when you take risks, even if you’re notREAD MORE A CRAZY purple makeover →
