Guest House Update – One Week to Move in

Happy New Year!

We’re excited to finally have a move in date. 2 1/2 years after moving in.

Permits, termites, you name it delayed the guest house renovations.

We’re putting the finishing touches on it this week and I cannot wait to move into it. Everything is light and Swedish inspired with some art deco touches.

Here are some pictures…

Pale yellow walls and black trim for the office.

This area will have a long desk overlooking the view and what will be the gravel outdoor garden area outside. The gold sconces are already up.

We painted the garage floor with white Epoxy – it made all the difference!

I found these pale yellow vintage swivel chairs at my new favorite vintage place and website www.loveseat.com. They have warehouses of vintage stuff in LA and San Diego – cool pieces at great prices.

A new addition came about that was not part of the original plan. Instead of making the entire left side of the garage a storage room we decided to a build music studio.

It has sound proof walls and will complete this creative center.

Love the WALL color – it’s CEDAR GREEN from Benjamin Moore.

All the trim and moldings everywhere is ONYX by Benjamin Moore.

To go with the Art Deco vibe that exists upstairs we even got a blinking recording sign.

I went Stone shopping in the valley with Javier to pick out an Art Deco inspired stone top for the bathroom and kitchen.

Love all these!!

I bought this bright Calacutta Classique.

Love the way it looks.

Feels art deco yet modern I think.

All the grouting is done.

My favorite part is tile pattern in the shower.

The glass shower door was installed with a gold handle.

We bought an extra black toilet seat to give the toilet a vintage vibe.

For the upstairs I picked out a light distressed looking floor.

All the wood hues have to go together.

Floor, beams and kitchen cabinets.

Love this wood color.

Oak kitchen cabinets are going in with black granite stone top.

We hung a mid century chandelier from World Market.

The front was painted to match the house but looks plain.

We are testing out window boxes and shutters. I want loads of flowers.

Almost there….
