LiveLikeYou to a bachelor's rescue!

How many bachelors move in to a place and don’t know what to do next?  I think it’s perhaps not crazy to say a lot of men (NOT all) fret over what to do after the big screen TV is purchased, and a great mattress has been selected.  Perhaps there’s been a brief visit to Restoration Hardware or Crate & Barrel, but other than that for many bachelors that’s it. It’s very hard to know where to start, and life is busy — so many go on living without making any design decisions.

This kind of scenario makes me SO excited about the upcoming “e-decor” site LiveLikeYou!  It makes me able to deal with all the seriously unfortunate delays, and the sometimes nightmare maze through the world of web programming and development. I’m truly believe it will be a great aid in helping people live they way they dream of.

Perhaps you remember our first super nice test customer BRADHe moved in to a rental apartment…

Newly divorced, no furniture, no free time…

…and unsure about how to design his space. And also reluctant to spend any of his budget on a designer, because it was needed to purchase furniture.

Enter LiveLikeYou.

On the site you’ll find personality and movie based interiors. For each personality there will be designs for 5-8 rooms in your house with everything you need to complete it.

In this case…Brad was THE MODERN BACHELOR, one of the first looks that will go on the site.

A rendering of the MODERN BACHELOR living room can be custom fit your space.  The design given can be personalized even more by the additional options available for each furniture item in your room. And you probably want to decide your budget?  You can select BUDGET and GREEN/VINTAGE options for each piece.

I’m obsessed with recycling furniture the aim is for it to be a vintage, custom vintage, antique or used item for all of the pieces suggested.

There’s a mood board for each main rendering for a room.

I always like to have mood board to print out. I like to look at it, and imagine it in my space when I design something. I’m hoping people feel the same way.

This is Brad’s living room now….

Original artwork by artist Josh Rosenthal is hanging above the sofa.  I’ve hand selected artists whose work inspires me to be sold on the site. I’m not a fan of “decorator art”, and I love giving an outlet for talented new and old artists to sell their work!

Brad’s opted not to paint the gray color selected for the room, as he is in a temporary rental and buildings can be quite tricky about that. But the existing color works fine.

He selected the additional option of two white garden stools and added his own zebra rug.

Here’s a tiny peak at his bedroom….

The headboard is a Marmalade Design product which will pop up here and there in our rooms.

The best part of it all was Brad’s happiness as his place was coming together.  I can’t wait to have this site up and running.  Designs should be available to everyone to create an environment that enhances their life in every way..

…and you shouldn’t always have to pay for it!

  1. Laura, I don't see any of those photo collections working in a kitchen. Cannot pick one out of them.
If you think you have clutter with the children's stuff in there now, just wait until some of the stuff that
is in those photos goes in! I suggest you start over. Sorry.

  2. I don't care for any of them. They look too much like magazine photo shoots than they do a real kitchen. They will not be practical for a family with young kids.

  3. Laura, talking about America and grow our economy I think you need to find products built here in the USA not imported furniture. This country has craftsmen spread through out but we choose to buy most of our furniture from foreign countries. Buy a handmade heirloom piece that will last for generations and support our economy.

  4. Wow…what an amazing transformation. I totally adore that room:) Have a fantastic day, my dear
    Kisses

Ps: I’m hosting an amazing GIVEAWAY today! You can win 2 adorable tea towels and a mug!

  5. I can't wait for the tool being a hesitant decorator myself. I love what you do but am totally intimidated about starting up. Seeing it on "paper" really helps to understand what can be done.

  6. Love it! Such a cosmopolitan vibe about it too. I'm sure Brad is quite happy:-). I'm really dying for you to launch your site-can't wait!

  7. You, my dear, are ingenious! I can't wait to see it all working (I know you can't either.) Hope you have had a wonderful spring break (BTW: never made it up to DC…maybe in a couple weeks, will keep you posted!)

  8. Great makeover, but go ahead and paint the walls gray…this gives the atmosphere some swagger! It is missing without the wall color. Bravo on the makeover.

  9. I am so impressed by your mad e-deign skills!!!! Dying to know what programs you use.

Everything is so spot on, absolute stunnah!!!!!
