First off a BIG Happy Birthday to Luke who turned 10 this week! Happy decade!!
We are in Miami for a few days for a much needed spring break and birthday celebrations. Can I tell you…I LOVE warm weather, particularity when I read the weather report for the east coast!
Hello freckle face! I held this title for years, but I think he just beat me!!
We love Miami Beach!!
For Luke’s birthday we went to Jungle Island and visited some beautiful animals. I’m kind of embarrassing at places like this, because I’m crazy about all kinds of animals and have to talk to them all!
And clearly I’m suffering from some kind of design disorder because seeing the bold tropical colors on these amazing creatures, all I could think of was how about if this animal was a room?
So Luke and I bring you…
ANIMALS RE-IMAGINED AS A ROOMS!
THE ALBINO PYTHON!!!
You can’t tell me if that if that snake was a room it wouldn’t look like…
…this room.
And meeting this SWEET PEACH COCKATOO who was a mature lady born in 1941, all I could see was chic Palm beach interiors.
She could clearly be re-imagined…
…as this room.
And these HAPPY GREETERS with their bold looks…
…mixed up would be this room.
This magically TURQUOISE PARROT in the most striking color would look great if painted in a room…
..like this…
…or perhaps pick up his fantastic hue in a great tropical interior?
Even this tiny RHESUS MONKEY BABY in a diaper, which we went seriously nuts for…
…would make a great room.
And don’t let me get started on the Lifeguard Towers.
The colors make my head spin with ideas!!
What room would this be?
Ahh, so much inspiration all around…
Have a fantastic weekend!
Fabulous inspiration photos with an adorable model! And the rooms…perfect!

Happy Birthday Luke, you are the cutest most adorable boy. I love your freckles and your smile!
Your son looked like he was in heaven with all of those animals! And we were in heaven with the beautiful inspiration rooms!
Awww….he is such a cutie. Hope he had a wonderful 10th birthday. I'm so jealous that you are in Miami. I am dressed in layers right now from being cold 🙂 Enjoy!
Happy Birthday Djungle Luke! You are a perfect match in our freckled family 🙂 And what a fun idea to match the animals with rooms. My pesronal favourites are the Happy Greeters (parrots) and the Monkey Rooms. Have a great stay in Florida and I do hope to see you all soon!
The yellow snake and yellow room is fantastic! What a great posting…I have to admit, I do the same thing…I always reimagine colors, and patterns in things i see into dresses, bags and rooms! 🙂 thanks Jill.

Firstly – birthday greetings to the birthday boy – he is adorable, freckles and all. And then – Love the pairings – so creative. And what a fabulous place that he got to hold the animals – my kids would have loved that!! I can't believe cockatoos live that long!!
Happy (belated) birthday to your amazingly beautiful boy!
What an amazing trip you have had. This is my kind of holiday too – beach and animals, with a nice drizzle of design inspiration. x
The animal/room parade was so fun Jill. I love these vibrant and beautiful animals, and just look at the eyes of Luke as he holds them. I bet he went to bed feeling completely filled up on impressions. What a wonderful day you seem to have had!
Big hugs to you
xx Charlotta
