House updates & chair makeovers

Here are a few house updates that happened this week.  Instead of selling some chairs I decided to do some quick makeovers.

This French/Swedish chair that had been in storage…

…got upholstered in a simple black and white striped fabric from Premier Prints.

It can now live in our still empty living room.

Another chair that I bought a few years ago at a flea market for a few dollars and made over a few years back for Luke’s room got a new makeover again.

It looked like this originally.

Black paint with faux sheepskin. Pretty safe to use in any area of the house in this way.

The library cabinets have been built.

I’m going for a beige paint color.  I know unusual for me but this house calls for it.

I bought a  Morrocan shag carpet for the TV room and it definitely cheered up the vibe.

It’s so cozy and soft underfoot. There is only one problem,  do you have any tips on how to clean it?

  1. Love the space! The 2 things I find helpful with cleaning a rug like that are to vacuum it with the beater bar turned OFF(if your vacuum has one) and then to spot clean with a product like "Krud Kutter" or "Magic Man".
