Our LA house is in a Swedish magazine and I thought I would share it with you. Journalist and photographer Stephanie Bjelkstam came to LA a while back to take pictures and to write a story about the makeover. The home renovations here have been at a standstill for a few weeks due to various issues. It’s thankfully finally back on and the house is waiting for stucco. However after all this wait (two years all in all!) I can’t imagine what it will be like working in an office now with loads of Dreamy inspiration for my new office
In May we started the final part of our house renovations and it was to turn the garage in to a teen room/guest house as well as a big downstairs office for my company. It went wickedly fast at first. If I just went off to a short meeting I would return to a completely Our guest house renovation – almost there!
Yesterday we started the final renovation project on our house. The Guest House. Turning the garage in to a guest house was supposed to be the first thing we did when we bought it. We’re finally coming to the the home stretch on a huge project on the east coast. We’ve worked on the building and design of large property in Virginia. Initially I didn’t think I could take on the big job considering the location. Somehow it’s working out with intermittent trips and yes Facetime! We’ve been working Update on a huge design project
Honestly I’m completely stressed out at the moment. The bungalow is filled with packing boxes up to my ears. We move in one week from today to a house that does not even have floors yet! Let alone a finished bathroom. I’ve been focusing on getting the basics in the guest bedroom done this week One Room Challenge -Week 2 -the Kitchen makeover
The renovations are going at full speed and we have only three weeks left to the move in date. I apologize for the intermittent blog posts, but sometimes things get overwhelming and I’m working late in to the night and the blog falls behind. When the renovations are going at lightning speed you often have to make really quick decisions. Luckily sometimes those decisions can be the best. The house didn’t have a space for an office for me, so I had been playing around with the idea of getting an office out of the house. But I was The most inspiring renovation idea yet – My office.
I think I underestimated the amount of time it takes to write a daily design blog in Swedish, while renovating a house on top of my regular work, so I apologize for the silence. But I’m getting the hang of it now. Renovating is staying on top of a million details and making a crazy Renovation diary
Happy 2015!
I was a bit apprehensive leaving the disaster scene I did at our new place in LA. Renovating from 5000 miles away, requires some planning, but then again in the internet age anything is possible! Javier suggested we do all the boring stuff….new sewer line, new electrical wiring, new hvac system, in short all stuff that you don’t see, that would be a snooze to cover on the blog.
