This week we had to paint. The house sits on a ledge high up a mountain side with the sun glaring in from three sides but with a steep hill behind the house. RED and a little Mad Men!
In honor of my charity Knock Out Abuse Against Women’s annual event tonight, I’m doing a RED post. 700 women are getting together at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington DC tonight to help combat domestic violence, in just a few hours…and I’m blogging!! It’s always a blast to produce an event with 700 women looking to have a good time while supporting an important cause. Girl friends are flying in from all over the country to attend.
The theme for the night is RED (with a little MAD MEN inspiration). The room is designed by genius event designer Andre Wells. I can’t wait to see the retro red couches and the zebra walls and the 60 male models dressed like Jon Hamm who will be escorts for the evening. (YES it’s the ultimate girls night out!) Promise I’ll post pictures next week.READ MORE RED and a little Mad Men! →
Surviving buying a kitchen at IKEA
ave you ever purchased a kitchen at IKEA?
I was in New York last weekend and dropped in on my dear friend and former room mate Herve to check out the cool studio he just purchased in the Village. He’s a top stylist in the New York fashion world, always creating beauty, so it was no surprise his place looked amazing. It was color coordinated, in red, white, silver and gray, with a smashing IKEA kitchen to match. Admiring the chic kitchen it’s easy to forget the 11(!) hours he spent at IKEA in Brooklyn suffering a meltdown!READ MORE Surviving buying a kitchen at IKEA →
