Have you ever felt like your home renovation takes forever? It’s been a long very windy road but we’re finally getting close to the finishing line in terms of the actual renovations. This week we had to paint. The house sits on a ledge high up a mountain side with the sun glaring in from three sides but with a steep hill behind the house. The front terrace pool bounces a weird blue light in to the house so it’s by far the most difficult house I’ve Picking paint colors – Week # 3 ORC
A few days ago we started painting, not all of the house, but enough so we at least can move in.
One of the things I’m kind of obsessing over in design lately is black moldings and windows. This house has low ceilings and sunny California outside so I have to be careful not to be too heavy handed. Since I have the luxury of living there first and seeing what the light does to the walls, I can wait to decide just how heavy I can go with the use of black moldings.
We’re going to move in to the guest room for the first couple of weeks until the floor goes down. The plan for that room is to be a Beverly Hills hotel inspired suite with my own twist, so it was painted coral. We're finally painting!
