Fall is here. It’s chilly and dark outside and the days are growing shorter. Finding a great color scheme for a room that feels right in all seasons can be difficult. Following your heart has been high on my priority list the last few days. I’m so excited to know we’re about to make big changes to our lives that’s truly taking steps toward following our dreams. It’s not always easy to stay true to yourself and what you really want, since responsibilities, commitments and the security of the “known” is a strong gravitational pull. I appreciate all of you who commented here and Facebook more than you know – so inspiring! I’d LOVE to hear more about what you are doing. As soon as more things get sorted out I’ll share more of our details.
So posting my Swedish friend fashion stylist and journalist Jennifer Jansch charming soul filled house in Sweden fits right in. I’ve been waiting to put this on the blog, but had to wait for it to come out in Lonny this past weekend! (You saw their amazing Stockholm apartment on the blog here and at met her at a shoot here.) She moved with her family to NYC to pursue their dream of living in Manhattan. But summers are spent at heir dreamy Swedish summer house.

Spent the evening at my friend Anna’s house who did a fantastic job renovating her new house without the help of a designer. I was impressed! She installed an IKEA kitchen that looks like a a $ 30,000 kitchen. ( IKEA… a subject we’ll get to in the next post…)
With the renovation work done, she wanted some help designing the main living areas of her house. So we got to work. First discussing ideas, style and preferences. She loves light colors, white, tan, gray, in a mix of modern, country and with some hip factor. You might know her from the HGTV hit show Small Space, Big Style or FOX, Design Invasion. She’s the go to designer on the The Rachael Ray show, and often pops in to do makeovers on shows like The View, The Early Show and many more.
