Renewal & Rebranding

You’re hopefully so busy with holiday parties and presents that you haven’t noticed my lag in blogging.

The Live Like You blog and the website, as well as my design firm Marmalade Interiors is going through a total re-branding and will all get a new home and name on the web.  They will all live under the upcoming www.jillsorensen.com site.  The Live Like You store will become Jill Sorensen Lifestyle and only continue to sell my own label.

The new sites should launch January 15th. Really excited about it!

With the move to California came a lot of soul searching and thinking and I decided simplifying was good.

Think it’s perhaps great for all business owners to sit down and make sure the direction you are headed is exactly where you want to go. It’s so easy to get so busy and answer to the work coming your way, and put off all the things you know you need to do to steer in the correct direction for you.

I would love to hear if you ever sit down and plan out where you need to go and where you want to end up, both business and personal.  Perhaps some of you even have some great tips.

Please share!

I’m excited to start the new year out all renewed!

  1. I've been doing that a lot lately and have committed to making 2014 different than 2013. For the last 19 years I've been self-employed and I'm giving myself permission to change direction from my comfort zone. I like your idea to brand under your name – when I think of Jill Sorenson I'll naturally think that you represent living like you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    1. Yes think it's great to revisit where we want to go. Stepping outside the comfort zone is definitely good. They say nothing worth doing comes without feeling a little bit of fear. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year you too!

  2. Boy, can I relate to this. It seems like 2012/2013 was full of change [almost too much]. We made the move to San Diego from another state and it was more overwhelming than I anticipated [especially w/ two little kids]. We spent a lot of time on the beaches, as I do my best thinking and soul searching there. I also turned the big 4-0 and that brought more soul searching. I'm like you….life is a bit easier when you simplify and just breathe. I figure at the end of my life no one will say "Boy she had an amazing work ethic" or "I wish she spent more time at the office." It's all about the people we meet and lives we touch. The one thing we don't get enough of in life is time. Just keep moving forward and "bloom where you are planted" [as my wise mother always says]. You're doing great! Hugs, Amy

    1. Hi Amy, so well said! Life is so short. Any time spent with our kids, people we love and meaningful experiences will never be regretted in the end. Time is surely so precious. The last year was full of such big changes for me too. It's great getting older and as we change with age so do our goals, just trying to stay in "tune". Thanks for that comment. Have a fantastic holiday!
