OH NO…it's already the end of summer!

I hope you all stayed safe during the hurricane.  This summer is going out with a bang I think it’s pretty safe to say! An earthquake and a monster hurricane within one week. I’m lucky to say we could not have planned our end of summer vacation any better…The last two weeks I’ve been vacationing and working on the West Coast. And as we watch Irene burrowing down on our home in Virginia, and endless heavy rain flood the East coast we’re enjoying a beautiful end of summer weekend in Laguna Beach. What a pretty place….have you ever been?

This was our amazing view from our hotel room.

Downtown Laguna Beach!

Luke and I came down here to visit with my former design partner Beth, who cleverly has made this gem of a town her new home. Before heading down here Dan and Luke and I spent time in Santa Monica.

Check out the cool t-shirts I got them from Urban Outfitters. Eggs and bacon..their favorite breakfast! Dan headed home to NY just before the storm to go back to work… But Luke and I drove down to Laguna Beach on a little road trip.

It’s about an hour drive south of Los Angeles. Before heading back to the grind of school starting and a busy fall we just wanted to really soak in the California sunshine!

And get our last beach days in…

It’s just so peaceful to stay at the beach and fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

This was our hotel sitting on the main cliff in town overlooking the beach. The Inn at Laguna Beach.

The sunset was stunning.

I hope you all got to take some vacations this summer. I’m refreshed after some rest and relaxation and fun, and ready to go back and tackle a heavy workload again. I will also go back to blogging three times a week like I normally do.  But….I am NOT looking forward to going back to the 6am school bus mornings.

I don’t know if you feel like me…but where did the summer go? It feels like it just started!

  1. Looks like a fabulous trip…I love that area! I'm starting to panic a little that summer is almost over…but it's still 105-degrees here, so I think I still have some time left! 🙂

ps — I'm linking/referencing you in both thurs and friday's posts on my blog!

  2. Love Laguna…but try to stay away in the summer. Peter and I love driving down the coast to Laguna at nights with the top down, seat warmers on, and listening to some good ol' Sade. Lovely pictures Jill…and those matching t-shirts are very cool 🙂
