Ep4 Move.Like.You-Operation Destination!

IT’S REALLY HAPPENING.

Will it work out or not?  We sure do plan on it!

Call me crazy, but the hunt is on for a DEPRESSING house far away from home.

Our house has not sold yet, nor have we even nailed down a place to rent in our new destination.  This is a stressful time in our lives but we’re aiming to make it a great memory and to try to have fun during the process (therefore this video diary!)

Thank You for all your comments and advice. WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE THEM MORE THAN YOU EVER IMAGINE!!
And thank You to talented young Luke for editing this piece.

  1. I rarely ever leave comments on blogs but i just have to tell you that the video was absolutely adorable and I hope you post more on your exciting move adventure. I'd love to follow along for the ride! Good luck and I know whatever you find will transform into something beautiful and amazing.

  2. How exciting! Can't wait to follow along with the whole process. I'm sure you'll find a great house in a neighborhood you love.

  3. That is great news that you guys are moving to CA!! Its an amazing place to live. We moved here from the East Coast 3 years ago and have loved every minute of it. I'm sure the school your son will be going to is in "Town" as we say here, out in Malibu, but if you are ever in Malibu look us up. My boys are 12, which I think is around the same age as your son. Your video was great, a real version of house hunting. Good luck on your move!!

    1. Hi Darren,
Thanks for your comment! So glad to hear you and your family are loving it coming from the eastcoast. Yes we will look you up – Luke is 12 just like your boys!

  4. hey kids, i've bought two awful houses in SoCal and reno'd them. my brother-in-law is a contractor and he did one for us and we did the other with subs. my step-niece is just getting into another complete wall-to-wall reno. when you ask a realtor to show you the disasters, that's what you get. SURPRISE! you should have seen the turquoise grout surrounding the lavender slate on the fireplace of the house i bought two years ago. i could pretty well distinguish the fingerprints of a 3-year old in the grout, so i'm sure that was a diy kid project. i've never been sorry, so bite the bullet and get on with it. a very large dumpster and a couple of helpers with masks, gloves and steel toed boots are a MUST.

  5. Really moving to a new place is very exciting but it is also stressful as there are many things to do from packing to moving. I go through your video. This is really great and now I would just like to wish you all the best for your move. Hope you will have good experience in your new place.

  6. My best thoughts on buying a new place are don't live with something decorative that you don't like just because it adds value, and if you're not sure about your floors, just do them anyway before you move your furniture in.
