Thank You for your comments regarding the front door. Seems it was a toss up between navy and yellow?
Thankfully I still have a little time to decide.
First we’re going to start next week by painting our house a nice white color. After that is done, I’ll see how it feels and decide what color the windows, window frames, eaves and gutters will get. First after that the front door color has to be finalized. However…my ideas just got a bit more extreme after I saw this picture on Domaine Home.
Feeling kind of obsessed with painting all the exterior windows black…
Although we have a very different house, it’s still a Spanish house although with a low-slung mid century vibe. We do have a tile roof and a brick baseboard that would work really well with black and white.
I’m really tempted to follow this painting plan…(gulp)
It’s a depressing sight outside right now, but nothing a coat of the right paints won’t fix!
I’m planning on planting coral and fuchsia bougainvillea on the terrace columns as well as a couple of the house walls. The covered terrace is also getting a long wood dining table with a bench and chairs.
My new obsession is also spreading to the indoors….
Although I already dared to paint the interior windows in the kitchen black, I now think I need to paint a few more. The look is kind of addictive.
Perhaps in the living room like this picture…
It adds instant elegance I think.
We don’t have steel windows, but I think it looks nice on all sorts of windows.
What do you think of the black window look? Do you have them in your home?
Do you think this is something we will get tired of, or is it a new classic?
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY…. should I dare to paint the exterior windows black???
