Now I know why this is called the One Room Challenge…because it is truly a challenge to pull off a room just the way you planned it in only six weeks. What a difference a year makes.
Sometimes you have to look back to realize how far you’ve come. Although I feel like nothing ever gets done around here and feeling frustrated about it, I changed my tune when I looked at pictures from a little more than a year ago. Walls had just been ripped out, there was no floor and What a difference a year makes.

The laundry room pendant arrived this week after being back ordered for months and I finally have one fully completed room. I know I’ve shared this room earlier, but I have included the new fixture (which I love) and all sources. The pretty but simple pendant just completed this already happy room. Finally, wallpaper is going up.
While the painters are working away outside, some of the rooms inside are being wallpapered. The TV room got a grass cloth geometric wallpaper. I wanted a subtle backdrop so the room doesn’t get too crazy when the banana leaf draperies get installed next week. It’s a cool tribal design called Djembe by Auxabris a Finally, wallpaper is going up.

I finally got some projects photographed so I can do these makeover Mondays. Here is a BEFORE/AFTER from a project. It’s a master bedroom in an apartment I designed for a family in Manhattan. They wanted a boutique hotel vibe in the master suite – a space that was engulfing and cozy. The design guide line was one that I love to hear “not boring”, however it needed to be a peaceful space both husband and wife would love.
