Hope you had a great Easter weekend! I was lucky enough to have been invited to Palm Springs for the weekend with a bunch of moms and teenage boys to stay at La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs. The hotel is a gigantic but incredibly charming golf resort built in the 1920’s surrounded by a My accidental visit to Greta Garbo's house

As the renovations have picked up speed, I need to make some design decisions! I’m going to try to remove myself from last on the list to top of the list for a change. Bedroom Design Idea – Boho Glam!
Here is a bedroom design idea to steal for your space.
Mix antelope print, Kelly Green bedding, gold accents and faux sheepskin, hang a rattan chair, snake skin wallpaper in the bathroom and you have the perfect recipe for an on trend look, yet one that is unique and unusual enough to show you march to your own drums.
Keep it all animal neutral except add to the mix in one or two strong colors to spice up the relaxed look. Personally I’m pretty obsessed with Kelly Green mixed with tans, black and gold!READ MORE Bedroom Design Idea – Boho Glam! →
My top 10 Brass hardware picks
I don’t know about you, but I’m all over brushed brass and brushed gold for fixtures, faucets and hardware. Something that I would have avoided years ago now feels so modern and chic with a newer matte finish. The kitchen, master bathroom and powder room will get all dressed up in matte gold. I'm over you white minimalism- Inspiration for new house
If I open another design magazine filled with the white minimalist trendy look I might scream.
Don’t get me wrong I love a good white room, but at some point it all starts to look the same and my heart dies a little. We ‘re not all the same, so why should we live the same? Doesn’t make sense!
When Luke and Dan initially requested a calmer house this time around, please no “purple mirror” etc., I’ve honestly tried to be “cool” and hop on the white trend. Feeling…uninspired and not in the mood to decorate. Are you with me? Does anyone else feel like this?
Having requested only gray and white for his room, Luke suddenly had a change of heart when I showed him the green library pic in here. He excitedly said “I have an idea let’s do the whole house crazy! With lots of weird crazy stuff all over”.
Music to my ears.
So that white trendy space… it will have to be for our next house I guess. I just love some of the jewel tones in these pics!READ MORE I'm over you white minimalism- Inspiration for new house →

This is not be an item, or something you can purchase, but it’s a look that seems pretty addictive. The glossy Blue Library. Kind of thinking of this look for the TV room in our new house. Do you dress the way you decorate?
As I’m getting ready to launch my E-Design service I’ve been pondering one of the questions we ask clients to answer in our online questionnaire “How do you describe the way you dress? ”
And does the way you dress match the way you decorate?
My interiors are kind of maximalist and colorful, yet my daily fashion style is minimalist. While I love a colorful retro dress or bold bohemian blouse when I go out, I stick to a uniform for my daily life. Having spent my twenties modeling in New York and a regular work week consisted of shoots in several cities or even countries “uniform” dressing was a must. You didn’t have to think before you dress or pack as every item was flexible and easy to mix. A recipe I stick to still today.
Here are some of my wardrobe staples:READ MORE Do you dress the way you decorate? →

Happy Friday!
When you start on the journey of renovating and designing your new home, you realize there’s just so much that inspires you and so much you would like to cram into your space. However it all can’t go in there. So I thought I would use Fridays here on the blog to share some of my current design obsessions, items that I’m hoping will make their way in to our new house. I hate to follow trends however once in a while you succumb to something and hopefully find a way to put your own twist to it.
Do you have any design obsessions? Please share them in the comment section below!
After having no interest in kitchens (yes I admit it) I’m now obsessed with kitchen designs. The relaxed California lifestyle or perhaps also the modern American lifestyle calls for open floor plans with kitchen, dining, TV room in one open area. The design and look of the kitchen now has more demands than ever to look good.
One obsession that will definitely makes its way in to our house, is the waterfall kitchen island.READ MORE Design Obsession – Waterfall Kitchen island →
